I was fortunate enough to have been invited to a local school to discuss my books and love of writing as part of Book Week celebrations. The theme of Book Week for 2015 was "books light up our world"; which they most certainly do.
During my presentations, I was able to share information about the writing and publication processes, and the importance of reading and writing, something the children were very intrigued about.
The highlight of the visit was sharing my two picture books James and His Boots and Teddy's Christmas Wish with the children. I was elated to see that the children were engaged throughout the read aloud, and to have heard such wonderful feedback was enough to compound that feeling of elation. It is always a wonderful feeling to know that children enjoy and appreciate the stories I write.
I'm very much looking forward to visiting more schools, and sharing with them my love of writing, as well as my stories.
